Monument to history ( Polish. Pomnik historii ) - in Poland, one of the four forms of protection of cultural heritage monuments along with the Register of Monuments , the Park of Culture and the monument, established in accordance with the general plan of a particular settlement.
Objects related to historical monuments are located in the register of monuments maintained by the National Heritage Institute ( pl: Narodowy Instytut Dziedzictwa , NID) and are subject to protection .
The basis for classifying the object as a historical monument is the order of the President of Poland .
The increase in public attention in Poland to historical monuments manifested itself after the damage caused during World War II, and was mainly associated with the work of the Polish architect Jan Zahvatovic to restore Warsaw destroyed by the Nazis and the signing of the Venice Charter .
