Mamuju [1] ( indon. Bahasa Mamuju ) is one of the Austronesian languages , common on the island of Sulawesi - in the Mamuju region of the Western Sulawesi province ( Indonesia ). According to Ethnologue , the number of speakers of this language was 60 thousand people. in 1991 [2] .

The following dialects are distinguished: mamuju, padang, ginonyi, sumere-rangas. Mamuju is considered a prestigious dialect, it speaks about 5/6 of all native speakers [2] .
