Biography
Born in 1907 in the village of Druzhkovka, Donetsk region, in a miner’s family. Russian. Education 7 classes.
Since 1927 he worked in the Krasnodon Mining Administration . He has gone from a laborer to a local surveyor .
In 1937 he graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Mining Institute and was sent to Donbass as the chief surveyor, then became the head of the technical department of the Dzerzhinskugol trust and worked in this position until leaving for defense work. For exemplary defense work in February 1942, S. E. Grigoriev was awarded the medal "For Labor Distinction."
In 1942 he was seconded to the Kizelugol plant in the Molotov Region. He worked as deputy chief and head of technical department.
In 1945-51 he was the chief engineer of the Molotovugol plant. He proved himself to be a wonderful mining specialist. He was an initiative and deeply erudite technically engineer, innovator, an excellent organizer of production.
Grigoriev put forward several hypotheses about the causes of rock strikes , proposed and implemented a number of original solutions to prevent them in the mines of the basin. Further systematic studies of the problem of rock strikes under the leadership of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Mining Geomechanics and Mine Surveying and with the active participation of S. E. Grigoriev were a valuable contribution to Russian mining science.
By a decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of August 28, 1948, for outstanding successes in increasing coal production, restoring and constructing coal mines, and introducing advanced work methods that ensured a significant increase in labor productivity, Sergey Yefimovich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and a gold medal "Hammer and sickle".
In 1951–54, S. E. Grigoriev worked as the chief engineer of the Osinnikiugol trust of the Kuzbassugol combine. Then he was transferred to Moscow to the A. A. Skochinsky Institute of Mining.
He died in 1955. He was buried in Moscow at the Vagankovsky cemetery.
He was awarded the Order of Lenin, the medal "For Labor Distinction."
