History
Judging by the available historical documents, the Jewish agricultural colony — resettlement plot No. 22 [5] was founded during the second stage of the creation of settlements, in the late 1920s, since in the List of settlements of the Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic on the All-Union Census on December 17, 1926 , among the existing villages of the Dzhankoy region under none of the possible names yet. The time for assigning Marat’s own name has not yet been established, but on topographic maps of 1938 [6] and 1941 [4], the village already appears under this name.
Soon after the outbreak of the Patriotic War, part of the Jewish population of Crimea was evacuated; most of those remaining under occupation were shot [7] . The further fate of the settlement has not yet been precisely determined: according to Yakov Pasik , published on the site "Jewish Agricultural Colonies of the South of Ukraine and Crimea", Marat was included in the neighboring, also abolished village of Yasnaya Balka [5] . The last time in accessible sources the village is found on the two-kilometer red army of 1942 [8] .
