Community of Kalesia ( Bosnian and horv. Opština Kalesija , Serb. Opshtina Kalesiјa ) is a Bosnian community located in the north-eastern part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina . The administrative center is the city of Kalesia .

Content
Geography
Located at the foot of the Maevitsa Mountain in the valley of the Spreca River. The area is 201 km² (0.39% of the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Tuzla - Zvornik highway, as well as the Tuzla - Zivinice - Kalesia - Zvornik railway, pass through the community, which connects the community with other communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Population
According to the 1991 census, 41,809 people from 40 settlements lived in the community. According to estimates for 2012, the population (within the old borders of 1991) was 35,691.

History
After the Bosnian war, the northern part (24 villages) of the Kalesia community moved to the new Kalesia community as part of the FBiH , the southern part (16 villages) was separated into a separate Osmatsi community as part of the Republika Srpska .
