Content
Biography
From an old noble family . The son of Vasily Alexandrovich Novosiltsov (d. 1892).
Received home education. In 1867 he entered the Equestrian Regiment as a volunteer in the Life Guards , a year later passed the officer exam and was promoted to cornet .
Ranks: lieutenant (1872), staff captain (1873), captain (1878), colonel (1885), major general (for distinction, 1895), lieutenant general (for distinction, 1904), general from cavalry (for distinction , 1910).
He commanded a squadron of the Life Guards Horse Regiment (1886-1893). In 1892, with the rank of colonel, he accompanied the Grand Duchess Alexandra Petrovna on a foreign trip, fulfilling the post of gofmarshal . Then he commanded the 1st Life Dragoon Moscow Regiment (1893–1895), the Life Guards Cossack Regiment (1895–1899) and the 3rd Brigade of the 1st Guards Cavalry Division (1899–1904).
In 1904-1908 he was the head of the combined cavalry division. In 1908 he was appointed commander of the 4th Army Corps , and on February 2, 1914 he was expelled from the corps with the appointment of Adjutant General .
During the Civil War he served in the All-Union Socialist League . In the summer of 1920 was in Malta.
In exile in Yugoslavia. He died in 1923 in Belgrade. He was twice married.

Family
First wife - Nadezhda Ivanovna Likhacheva , cousin of Princess O. V. Paley . They had three sons in marriage - Yuri (1878-1931), Vladimir (1880-1921) and Anton (d. 1908), and daughter Tamara (1881-1939), the maid of honor of the court, her marriage with P.P. Rodzianko ended in a scandalous divorce .
The second wife is Nadezhda Ilinichna Denisova (1866-1926)
