Geography
To Kechkhonu stretches a mountain chain consisting of such mountains as Myohsansan , Chkhansan , Chehonsonsan , Cheonrensan . The highest peak is Paekthaphsan . The important rivers are the Tedongan and the Choncheon . 61% of the city is forested.
Economy
The city is rich in water resources, so there are several reservoirs. Agriculture is developing extensively , including livestock and orchards. The main industrial sectors of the city are machining and metalworking , as well as the mining industry .
Tourism
Interesting tourist sites in Kecheon are Sonam Cave, Theripsha Temple with a nine-tier stone pagoda , Changhamson Fortress, Thosson and Coasanson , Namsa dolmen , a group of dolmens in Mukphansana . There is also Yonphun Lake, which was established in 1956, and Yonwon Cave, which was discovered in 1966 and is a nature monument of the DPRK No. 43.
