Initial biography
Nikolai Ivanovich Voeikov was born on November 30, 1901 in the village of Stujen (now the Manturovsky district of the Kursk region).
Military Service
Civil War
In April 1919 he was drafted into the ranks of the Red Army and sent by the Red Army to the local food detachment . Since August, he fought in the 1st Brigade ( 42nd Rifle Division , 13th Army ) as a political fighter and political officer of the company of the 371st Rifle Regiment, assistant head of the political department of the brigade. He took part in hostilities on the South and South-Western Fronts against troops under the command of General A.I. In January 1935, Voeikov was sent to study at academic courses for technical improvement of the command staff at the Red Army Military Academy of Mechanization and Motorization , after which he was appointed in August to the post of assistant chief of the 1st staff department of the 45th mechanized corps , in March 1936 - to the position of commander of the tank battalion, 51th Infantry division , in October 1937 - to the position of commander of the 10th tank regiment ( North Caucasus military District ), in May 1940 - to the position of assistant to Inspect ra, then - to the post of inspector of the cavalry of the Red Army, in December - to the post of commander of the 24th separate light tank brigade , and in March 1941 - to the position of commander of the 42th Armored Division ( 21st Mechanized Corps , Leningrad Military District ) .
World War II
Since June 23, the division under the command of Voeikov took part in defensive military operations against the 4th tank group of the enemy in the Daugavpils area, and then retreated in the Pskov direction. For exemplary fulfillment of the command assignment in these battles, Major General Nikolai Ivanovich Voeikov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner .
In October 1941, the 42nd Panzer Division was transformed into the 42nd Panzer Brigade , and Voeikov was appointed to the post of its commander. Soon the brigade took part in defensive military operations during the battle of Moscow .
In December 1941, Voeikov joined the group of the representative of the Headquarters of the Supreme High Command, Lieutenant General Y. N. Fedorenko, and in March 1942 he was appointed commander of the 97th Tank Brigade .
At the beginning of 1943 he was in the hospital due to illness and after treatment in March of the same year he was appointed to the post of inspector general of the Inspectorate of the command of the commander of armored and mechanized forces of the Red Army, in October 1943 - to the post of deputy commander of the 5th mechanized corps , and Since December, he has been successively appointed to the post of deputy commander and commander of the armored and mechanized forces of the 4th Ukrainian Front .
In April 1944, he was appointed to the post of deputy commander of the 9th Panzer Corps , and on July 17 of the same year, to the post of commander of this corps, who took part in the Bobruisk operation , during which he liberated the cities of Osipovichi and Bobruisk , and during development offensive on the Baranavichy - Brest direction - Slonim , for which the corps was given the honorary name "Bobruisk". During the Belarusian offensive operation, Voeikov successfully led the corps during the liberation of the city of Baranovichi , for which the corps and its commander were awarded the Order of the Red Banner .
In January 1945, Major General of the Tank Troops Nikolai Ivanovich Voeikov was sent to study at an accelerated course at the K.E. Voroshilov Higher Military Academy .
Post-War Career
After completing the crash course, in February 1946, Voeikov was appointed commander of the 32nd Guards Mechanized Division , in June 1947 - the deputy commander of the 2nd Guards Tank Division , and in April 1949 - the commander of the 10th Tank Regiment , in March 1950 - to the post of commander of the 10th Panzer Division , in November 1951 - to the post of assistant commander of the 7th mechanized army , and in January 1953 - to the post of assistant commander of the Northern Group of Forces .
Major General of the tank forces Nikolai Ivanovich Voeikov resigned in December 1953 . He died on May 4, 1974 in Moscow .
