Alexander Alyonkin was born in 1892 [1] . He served in the tsarist army, participated in the battles of the First World War. After the October Revolution, he went to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. He participated in the battles of the Civil War in the Southern Urals and in the Volga Region ( Eastern Front ) against the troops of Admiral Alexander Kolchak [2] , being the chief of staff and commander of the 81st Infantry Brigade of the 27th Infantry Division of the 5th Army [3] .

By order of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic No. 23 in 1922, brigade commander Alexander Alyonkin was awarded the first order of the Red Banner of the RSFSR for military distinctions during the Soviet-Polish war [3] .

By order of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Republic No. 157 in 1923 for combat distinctions during the May battles of 1919, brigade commander Alexander Alyonkin was again awarded the Order of the Red Banner of the RSFSR [3] .

After the Civil War, Alyonkin continued to serve in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army, was the chief of staff of the 79th Infantry Regiment of the 27th Infantry Division. During the purge at the headquarters of the Western Front in 1923, he was removed from his post, according to some reports, due to the arrest by the OGPU of the USSR of the commander of the 79th Rifle Regiment [4] . Further circumstances of his military service are unknown, except that on July 25, 1945, he was the head of the tactical cycle of the training department of the courses of the General Directorate of General Education of Non- Profit Organizations , having the military rank of “lieutenant colonel,” was awarded the medal “For Victory over Germany in the Great Patriotic War” 1941-1945 ” [5] . Dismissed to the reserve with the rank of colonel. He lived in Moscow . He died in 1953, was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery in Moscow (section 1, 14 row, 9th place) [1] .
