Emigration

He emigrated to Germany in March 1920, after the defeat of the White movement in Crimea. In the mid-1920s sided with the current - Smekhovekhovites , grouped around the Berlin military-scientific journal " War and Peace " and advocating cooperation with the Bolsheviks. He also headed the Association of ranks of the 18th Army Corps (since 1930, as part of the 4th department of the ROVS ).

According to news received from the USSR, he died in 1930. For those who knew him, his transition to the Bolsheviks came as a complete surprise and caused not only indignation, but also complete bewilderment. In reality, as in the story of Bonch-Bruevich, his offended pride played a dominant role in this act. He was offended that Denikin removed him from his post, and Wrangel did not attract him to work. Offended, he went over to the Bolsheviks.
