Political career
On August 2, 2004, Sonneborn founded the party PARTY (German Die PARTEI) together with other editors of the Titanic (German: Titanic). As its federal chairman, he is called in the jargon “GröVaZ - the greatest chairman of all time” (German: Größter Vorsitzender aller Zeiten). During the 2005 federal election campaign, Sonneborn appeared in several television commercials. They were shown during advertising time on ZDF and the provocation contained a lot of advertising for Hapag-Lloyd Express. This has led to debate in the media and politicians about tightening the rules for campaigning. Sonneborn explained that they simply behaved like the ARD television channel: "Obviously, secretly place secret advertisements."
On October 2, 2008, the feature film Heimatkunde was shot, in which documentary filmmaker Andreas Cooper accompanied Sonneborn on a tour of Berlin.
