Biography

In the first documents, Meshko appeared in 1167 as one of the sons of the Great Prince of Poland. In 1177 or 1179, as a result of the overthrow of Meshko the Old , the young prince, along with his parents, fled the country. Most likely he returned to the country with his father in 1181. In 1184, as a result of the diplomatic intrigues of his father, Meshko the Younger was appointed the sickly prince Leszek Boleslavovich as viceroy of the principalities of Mazovia and Kuyavia, with the right to inherit the principalities upon the death of Leszek. The tough rule of the Bag of the Younger led Leszek to an agreement with Casimir II . After which Meshko the Younger was expelled, and Leszek wrote the testament to Casimir. In 1191, when Meshko III the Old took control of little Poland, he appointed his son Mesh as governor of Krakow. However, Casimir II the Fair quickly regained Krakow, and Meshko the Younger was captured. In 1191, Meshko III the Old endowed his son Meshko with the Principality of Kalish. Meshko the Younger died on August 2, 1193 and was buried in Kalisz.

Marriage and offspring

For unknown reasons, Meshko Kalishsky never married and did not leave offspring.
