Biography
He was educated at a Catholic school.
- 1962-1967 - Minister of Education, then Minister of Labor and Health, local government,
- 1967-1974 - Foreign Secretary,
- 1972-1982 - Vice President of The Gambia.
In 1986, he was one of the initiators of the creation of the Gambia People’s Party, which was banned after the military coup of 1994. In the presidential election of 1987, it received 13.7% of the vote, and in the presidential election of 1992, 8%, in both cases, taking third place.
