Jambi ( indon. Bahasa Melayu Jambi ) is one of the Austronesian languages . According to Ethnologue , the number of speakers of this language was 1 million people. in 2000 [1] . Distributed in Sumatra , in the province of Jambi .

Jambi is closely related to the Javanese , Malay and Indonesian languages , as well as to Minangkabau and Mushi [1] .
