Korovin submachine gun was created by the Soviet designer Sergei Korovin in the initial period of the Great Patriotic War in order to maximize the simplification and cheapening of the design. As a result, the release of this weapon was possible to deploy in just two days, it was produced in limited series at the Tula Arms Plant in 1941 for the needs of the people's militia . Directly from the production lines of the plant, submachine guns were delivered to the front line , where they were successfully used until the inclusion of militias in the regular structure of the Red Army .

Design
The weapon system is based on the use of recoil energy with a free shutter , of the available shooting modes there is only automatic. Fire is conducted with an open shutter. Most parts are stamped from sheet steel. Due to the large length of the receiver, and, as a consequence, the large length of the recoil of the shutter, this system has a moderate rate of fire, which has a positive effect on both the consumption of cartridges in battle and accuracy. The fuse was missing. Cartridges were fed from detachable box magazines with a capacity of 35 rounds, not compatible with PPSh . Sights : open sight with a cross over entirely, marked out on 100 and 200 meters.
Application History
The only part that was equipped with Korovin system submachine guns was the Tula Workers Regiment . The militia of the Tula workers' regiment took their first battle at 7.30 a.m. on October 30, 1941, defending the Rogozhinsky village . Then the first combat use of Korovin submachine guns took place.
