Dobre Dimitrov Dobrev ( Bulgarian. Dobre Dimitrov Dobrev ; July 20, 1914 , Baylovo , Kingdom of Bulgaria - February 13, 2018 , ibid. [1] ) - known as Grandfather Dobri ( Bulgarian. Uncle Dobri ) or the saint from Baylovo, a Bulgarian philanthropist collecting alms and who donated significant sums for the restoration and maintenance of Bulgarian Christian churches [2] .

Biography
Born on July 20, 1914 in the village of Bailovo. Father Dimitar died in the First World War , mother Katerina [3] raised children alone. He has been engaged in agriculture all his life. He married in 1940 , at a time when Bulgaria was already taking part in the Second World War . During one of the bombing of Sofia from a bomb exploding nearby, he almost completely lost his hearing. He had four children, two of whom are currently alive [4] .
He raised funds for the restoration of temples in Bulgaria. He himself lived in a small house on the territory of the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in his native village. He was looked after by one of the daughters [4] .
Almost every day, Dobre Dobrev traveled on foot or by bus to Sofia, where he collected alms near the Alexander Nevsky Monument Church or the Seven Saints Church. All the money raised was donated for the repair or restoration of churches and other needs. He lived on a state pension (about 100 euros [4] ). For personal use, he used only non-monetary alms (food, clothing).
Donations
The poor-living Grandfather Dobri gave over 80,000 leva from the funds donated to him by people to repair and restore the temples of Bulgaria.
- 2005 - donated 10,000 leva to the Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius in the village of Bailovo [5] .
- 2007 - gave 25,000 leva for the restoration and repair of the monastery and church in the village of Gorno-Kamartsi [5] .
- 2008 - gave money to repair the church in Kalofer [5] .
- 2009 - gave 35 700 leva (about 18 250 euros ) for the repair of the cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky , which is the largest donation from a private person in the entire century-long history of the church [6] .
He also paid utility bills to orphanages [7] .
