Panamanian Mirikina [1] ( lat. Aotus lemurinus ) is a mammal species of the wide-bearing broad- bearing monkey. It lives in tropical and subtropical forests of South America . [2]

Content
DescriptionThe head is small, round. The eyes are large, which is a consequence of the nightlife. Eyebrows are light, thick; dark eyebrows between the eyebrows. The coat is thick, yellow or orange on the belly. The tail, color from dark brown to orange, is not prehensile.
Limbs slender, with long fingers. The pads are wide. Adult animals weigh up to 1.3 kg. Sexual dimorphism is not pronounced.
BehaviorIt dwells both in dry and in wet forests, meeting on all tiers of the forest. It rarely comes down to earth. The range extends from Colombia to Ecuador and Panama .
Spends the day in hollows of trees or in dense thickets, gets food at night. In the diet mainly fruit, besides eating leaves, insects, nectar, small mammals and birds.
Forms small groups consisting of a pair of adult monkeys and their offspring. The female breeds once a year at the end of the dry season or in the middle of the wet season. Pregnancy lasts an average of 133 days, in the litter one, rarely two cubs. Puberty begins at the age of 2.5 to 3.5 years.
ClassificationPreviously stood out to four subspecies. [3] All of them were eventually separated into separate species. [4] Three species that were previously considered subspecies:

- Aotus griseimembra
- Aotus zonalis
In addition, Aotus hershkovitzi is now considered synonymous with the Panamanian Myrican. [four]
