Biography

Since 1958 he taught at Oxford , since 1960 he was at Oxford Worcester College. [1] In 1978-1979 he worked as a visiting professor at Carleton College ( Minnesota ). [2] Prior to this, he was a lecturer at Queen Victoria University . [3]

Hinton is widely cited as the founder of the disjunctivistic theory of perception . [4] [5] This theory was first described in 1973 in his book Experiments: An Inquiry Into Some Ambiguities , [6] and references to it in his records refer to 1966 .
