History
The cemetery was founded in 1887 on the southern slope of the Lysa Gora hill by the Jewish community of Podguže . In 1932, a new necropolis was founded near the cemetery by the Jewish community of Krakow.
In 1942, the cemetery appeared on the territory of the Plashov concentration camp and was completely destroyed. Gravestone monuments were used to pave roads and strengthen the foundations of the camp huts.
Until now, several dozen graves have survived without grave monuments and the only tombstone of Chaim Jacob Abrahamer, who was buried in 1932.
The cemetery also housed a military necropolis during World War I , which was also destroyed during the war.
