ClassificationPreviously classified as a kind of common marmoset ( Callithrix ) as a subspecies of Callithrix argentata or Callithrix chrysoleuca . Since 2001, placed in the genus Mico . [one]
DescriptionExternally similar to the Mico argentatus species, the coat color is white, except for the light golden tail and legs. Face and ears are non-pigmented. [one]
BehaviorIt inhabits moist tropical rainforests, is more common in secondary forests . Forms the group consisting of 4-15 animals. During the breeding season, usually only one female from the group gives birth to offspring. Each group protects its territory from 10 to 40 hectares . [one]
DietThe diet includes fruits, flowers, tree sap, insects, snails, small vertebrates. Like the rest of the little animals, these animals can make cuts on tree trunks and plant shoots to stimulate the formation of sap. [2]
