Robert Newton ( eng. Robert Newton ; June 1, 1905, - March 25, 1956, Beverly Hills ) - British theater, film and television actor. Basically, I remember the roles of pirates , is the "patron saint" of International Pirate Day ( September 19 ).

Biography
Robert Newton was born on June 1, 1905 in in the family of landscape painter Algernon Newton (1880–1968) [4] and writer Marjorie. He studied in Lamorna - "Bay of Artists", then at the School of St. Bartholomew .
He first appeared on the stage at the age of 15 at the Birmingham Repertory Theater and played in productions until his death.
During the Second World War, he served in the fleet on the minesweeper Britomart , which accompanied, among other, Soviet convoys.
For the first time on a wide screen appeared in 1932, since 1953 - also on television.
By the end of his life, Newton was sick with chronic alcoholism , with the result that on March 25, 1956, he died of myocardial infarction in Beverly Hills . He was buried at the Westwood Cemetery , but many years later the son of the actor, Nicholas, carried out the last will of his father and dispelled his ashes over the of Ments , not far from Lamorna , where Robert Newton spent his childhood.
