History
The temple was designed by G. Veselov specifically for the Tashkent Cadet Corps , organized in 1901 on the basis of the Tashkent Preparatory School of the 2nd Orenburg Cadet Corps . Initially, 100 pupils studied at the government house (i.e., at state expense). The first issue was carried out in 1906.
The temple was consecrated on October 16, 1905 in honor of the feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos . The altar was installed marching iconostasis of Emperor Peter I , donated by the Grand Duke Nicholas Konstantinovich and previously received from one of the Pereslavl monasteries.
After the revolution, the cadet corps was disbanded. In 1930, the temple was closed, and its dome was destroyed. Currently, the building of the former church is located on the territory of Clinic No. 3 of the Tashkent Medical Academy.
