Nine ( ナ イ ン Nain ) is a baseball manga authored by Mitsuru Adati . Published in the Monthly Shōnen Sunday Zōkan magazine from October 1978 to May 1979 . Based on the manga, 4 anime adaptations [1] and a drama [2] were created , which was broadcast on Fuji TV as part of the Monday Dramaland program ( Japanese 曜 曜 ド ラ マ ラ ン ド Getsuo Doramarando ) . Later, an improved version of the first anime was released in Japanese cinemas with new musical accompaniment. [3] [4]

Content
Story
Before entering Seishu High School for the first time, racing star Katsuya Niimi and judo champion Susumu Karasawa see a crying girl who has lost a baseball. The main characters, in order to cheer up the girl, decide to join her baseball team. The girl's name is Yuri Nakao, she is the daughter of a baseball coach. According to Yuri, if she does not play better, her school team may be dissolved. So Katsuya and Susumu become one of the 9 players in the team and gradually learn to play baseball. In the future, new championships await them with other school teams. [five]

- The pitcher is left-handed on a baseball team. One of the best middle class pitchers in all of Japan. His father is engaged in cargo transportation.

- An excellent athlete, fell in love with Katsuya back in high school. After Katsuya is transferred to a new school, Yukimi begins to pursue Katsuyu to Yuri's great displeasure.

- Yuri's childhood friend. Bunan High School Baseball Pitcher. He also claims to be Yuri’s heart and becomes a rival to Katsui.

- Cantaro’s younger brother and new baseball team member. It is on the third base. In love with Yukimi. Wearing a t-shirt with number 5.

- The younger sister of the Yamanaka brothers. She is trying to establish a relationship between Yuri and Kantaro, and thus hinders the development of a romantic relationship between Katsuya and Yuri.

- Baseball club coach. He is afraid of losing his job, as his team did not win matches for a long time. However, everything changes after Eiji Kurahashi enters the team. Previously coached little Kantaro, being his neighbor.

- A former baseball player, helps Eiji join the baseball team after talking with his father.
