Shaun the lamb (cartoon)

“ Shaun the Sheep Movie ” is a British full-length animated film by Aardman Animations studio about Shaun the sheep, the hero of the animated series of the same name [1] . It is also a spin-off of another Aardman series of Wallace and Gromit films, where Sean's character was first involved. The cartoon was created using a combination of plasticine and computer animation , takes 8th place in the list of the highest-grossing puppet cartoons . The world premiere of the film took place on January 24, 2015 at the Sundance International Film Festival in the USA [4] , and the premiere in Russia on March 26, 2015 [5] .

Story

When Sean decides to take a day off and have fun, he gets a little more action than he expected. Mixing with a farmer, a caravan and a very steep hill leads them all to the big city, and Sean and the herd can safely return them all to the green grass of the house. [7]

Production

In January 2011, the BBC announced that Aardman had begun work on a full-length cartoon about Shaun the lamb, which was due out in 2013/2014. In April 2013, it was reported that the film will be directed and written by Richard Starzac and Mark Burton (known for the Madagascar cartoon), and that the film will be financed by the French company StudioCanal [9] . Filming began on January 30, 2014 . Two months later, on April 3, 2014, the premiere of the poster and teaser trailer took place [10] . The picture was released in wide rental on February 6, 2015 [11] [12] . On this day, it started in the UK , Ireland , Finland and other European countries [13] .

Criticism

The film was highly praised by Ukrainian and international film critics, gaining widespread recognition. The Rotten Tomatoes website received 99% positive reviews from 153 critics, with an average rating of 8.1 out of 10 [14] . On Metacritic, the film has 81 points out of 100 based on reviews from 30 film critics [15] . Ukrainian critics also gave the film only positive reviews:
