Content
History
It is first mentioned in the Scribe Book of the Vodskaya Pyatina of 1500 as the village of Medusha in the Ilyinsky Zamozhsky graveyard of the Koporsky district [2] .
Then, as the village of Meodussa by in Zamozhsky churchyard in the Swedish "Scribe books of Izhora land" from 1618-1623 [3] .
The map of Ingermanland by A. I. Bergenheim , compiled from Swedish materials in 1676, shows the village of Medusa [4] .
On the Swedish "General Map of the Province of Ingermanland" in 1704, is the village of Medusa , and to the south of it is Samoskoi Rÿsskÿrka [5] .
The village of Meduska and with her Ruski church are mentioned on the “Geographical drawing of Izhora land” by Adrian Schonbeck in 1705 [6] .
Then, Meduskaya Manor was plotted on the map of the St. Petersburg province of 1792 by A. M. Wilbrecht [7] .
The village is the patrimony of Emperor Alexander I of which the warriors of the Imperial Police Battalion were exhibited in 1806-1807 [8] .
On the map of the St. Petersburg province of F.F. Schubert in 1834, the village of Stary Medushi , consisting of 22 peasant households and the estate of Pomeshchik Rantsov , is indicated [9] .

In this church is stone in the name of the Holy Trinity. (1838) [10]
According to the 9th revision of 1850, the manor and the village of Medushi belonged to the landowner Konstantin Sevastyanovich Kramer [11] .
On the map of Professor S. S. Kutorgi in 1852, the village of Starye Medushi and the Shreider Manor are marked with it [12] .

According to the 10th revision of 1856, the manor and the village of Medushi belonged to the landowner Mikhail Fedorovich Plautin [14] .

According to the “Topographic Map of Parts of the St. Petersburg and Vyborg Provinces” in 1860, the village of Starye Medushi consisted of 24 peasant households. In the village there was a manor, a church and a chapel [15] .

In 1868, the temporarily liable peasants of the village of Medusha bought their land allotments from the Grand Duchess Elena Pavlovna and became the owners of the land [17] .
In 1885, the village consisted of 20 yards [18] .
According to the statistics on the national economy of the Peterhof district in 1887, the 1040 acres of Medushi manor belonged to Baron L.O. Rausch von Traubenberg , it was acquired in two parts in 1868 and 1886 for 18,000 rubles. There was a forge, brick and lime plants in the manor. A porter shop was leased. "The house, which was under the hospital, is now unused" [19] .
The compilation of the Central Statistical Committee described it like this:

In the 19th century, the village administratively belonged to the Medush volost of the 2nd camp of the Peterhof district of the St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the 20th century - of the 3rd camp.
According to the "Memorial Book of the St. Petersburg Province" for 1905, Stary Medushi is a village, an Orthodox church, Torzhok on May 9. The Staraya Meduši Manor, with an area of 761 tithing, belonged to Baron Leonid Oskarovich Rausch von Traubenberg [21] .
By 1913, the number of yards in the village increased to 32 [22] .
From 1917 to 1923, the village was part of the Medush village council of the Medush volost of Peterhof district.
Since 1923, as part of the Gatchina district .
Since 1924, as part of the Central Village Council.
Since February 1927, as part of the Gostilitsky volost. Since August 1927, as part of the Oranienbaum district [23] .
According to the topographic map of 1930, the village numbered 44 yards, the church was located in the village.
According to 1933, the village of Medushi Stary was part of the Central Village Council of the Oranienbaum District [24] .
The village was liberated from the Nazi occupiers on January 28, 1944.
Since 1960, as part of the Lopukhinsky Village Council.
Since 1963, as part of the Gatchina district.
Since 1965, again as part of the Lomonosov district [23] .
According to the data of 1966, 1973 and 1990, the village of Starye Medushi was also part of the Lopukhinsky Village Council [25] [26] [27] .
In 1997, 42 people lived in the village of Starye Medushi of the Lopukhinsky volost, in 2002 - 33 people (Russians - 94%), in 2007 - 21 [28] [29] [30] .

The village is located in the southwestern part of the district on the highway 41K-026 ( Lopukhinka - Shelkovo ), south of the administrative center of the settlement, the village of Lopukhinka .
The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 4 km [30] .
The distance to the nearest railway station Koporye is 34 km [25] .
