Bruce Joel Rubin ( born Bruce Joel Rubin ; born March 10, 1943, Detroit, Michigan ) is the screenwriter best known for writing the script for the supernatural romantic film The Ghost , for which he won the 1991 Academy Award for Best Original the script .
