Biography
Stepan Lychakov was born on April 25, 1909 in the village of Chirukhovskaya (now Luz district of the Kirov region ). After elementary school, he worked on a collective farm . In June 1941, Lychakov was called up for service in the Workers 'and Peasants' Red Army. From the same year - on the fronts of World War II [1] .
By September 1943, Senior Sergeant Stepan Lychakov was commanding the guns of the 80th Guards Separate Anti-Tank Fighting Division of the 73rd Guards Rifle Division of the 7th Guards Army of the Steppe Front . He distinguished himself during the battle of the Dnieper . On September 27, 1943, during fights on the bridgehead on the western bank of the Dnieper in the vicinity of the village of Borodaevka of the Verkhnedneprovsky district of the Dnepropetrovsk region of the Ukrainian SSR, Lychakov’s calculation took part in repelling a large number of German counterattacks, destroying 2 enemy tanks. In those battles, Lychakov received a concussion , but continued to fight [1] .
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 26, 1943, for the "exemplary performance of command missions at the front of the battle against the German invaders and the courage and heroism shown" of the guard, senior sergeant Stepan Lychakov was awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union with the award of the Order of Lenin and the medal " Golden Star ” under the number 1351 [1] .
After the war, the rank of foreman Lychakov was demobilized. He lived and worked in the city of Luza, Kirov region. He died on May 28, 1968 [1] .
He was also awarded the Order of the Red Star and a number of medals [1] .
In honor of Lychakova named street in Luz [1] .
