Mark Wayne Hateley ( born Mark November 7, 1961 , Wallace , England ) is an English footballer . Known for playing for AC Milan , Rangers and England . The son of a famous football player Tony Hayley and the father of a professional football player Tom Haightley .

Club career

In professional football, Hayley made his debut at the Coventry City club, for which he spent 5 seasons, in 1983 he moved to Portsmouth , in which he spent only one season. From 1984 to 1990 he played in continental Europe, first spent 3 seasons in the Italian β€œ Milan ”, and then as many in the French β€œ Monaco ” with whom he became the champion of France . In 1990, he moved to the Scottish Rangers , in which he spent the next five seasons, which became the most productive in his career. Together with the Rangers, Hayley won the Scottish Championship five times and won the Scottish Cup twice, in the 1993/94 season, at the age of 33, he became the top scorer of the Scottish Championship and was recognized as the best player in the championship. In the future, Hayley’s career began to decline, and after changing several more clubs, he ended his career in 1999 at Ross County Club.

Team Career

Playing for the youth team of England twice became the champion of Europe in 1982 and 1984 . As part of the national team, Hayley made his debut on June 2, 1984 in a match with the USSR team . In total, the national team spent 32 matches in which he scored 9 goals. He participated in the 1986 World Cup and the 1988 European Championship .

Coaching career

Continuing his career as a footballer, in 1997, Hayley became the playing coach of the Hull City Third Division club. He coached the club until the fall of 1998, and later did not return to coaching.
