Kornut was born in the Pamphylian city of Perge . Under Emperor Nero, he became a member of the Senate. In 73, Emperor Vespasian appointed Tertullus to the post of “censura inter praetorios adlectus” . After 74 years, he receives the post of proconsul of the province of Narbonne Gaul .
In 97, Kornut became the prefect of Saturn's Eraria . In 100, he held the post of consul-suffice along with Pliny the Younger . After this, Guy becomes the curator of the Emilia Road , and then the legate in Aquitaine .
In 111, Tertullus was sent as governor to the provinces of Bithynia and Pontus . In 116, he was proconsul of the province of Africa. Kornut buried in Tuscula .
The wife of his daughter Julia Tertulla was the consul-suffice of 101, Lucius Julius Marine Cecilius Simplex .
