Biography

N. M. Popova was born on October 29, 1923 in the village of Dubievka, Cherkasy region [2] . Since 1927 she lived with her father (in Kryvyi Rih on the Inguletsky mine , since 1929 - at the mine of the mine named after Dimitrov No. 9-6 of the Krasnoarmeysky district of Donetsk region).

In 1940 she entered the acting department of the Kiev State Theater Institute . The period of Nazi occupation (1941-1943) survived in Dubievka with parents. In 1944, she worked as the head of the library of the Cherkasy Pedagogical Institute , from the fall of the same year she continued her studies at the theater institute, where her teachers were People's Artists of the USSR A.M. Buchma and G.P. Jura , People's Artists of the USSR V. B. Vilner and P. M. Nyatko , Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR I. I. Chabanenko . During her studies, she received a personal scholarship named after Maria Zankovetskaya .

August 1, 1947, having graduated from the institute with honors, she joined the troupe of the Cherkasy Drama Theater. T. G. Shevchenko, where she served as an actress until the end of her life [2] .

More than 15 years [ when? ] headed the regional branch of the Union of Theater Workers of Ukraine . Twice (1957, 1959) she was elected as a deputy of the Cherkasy city council of deputies of workers.

Taught [ when? ] acting and stage performance at the Cherkasy Pedagogical Institute and at the directing courses of amateur art directors at the regional department of culture.

She was buried in Cherkasy [2] .

Family

Father - Mark Mikhailovich Oleinik, a miner, worked in the mines of Kryvyi Rih and Donbass in 1907-1940.

Mother - Martha Fedorovna Oleynik, housewife.

Husband - Nikolai Vasilievich Popov (1907-1985), director, artistic director, director, actor of the Cherkasy Regional Music and Drama Theater. T. G. Shevchenko; Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR [2] .

Children:

  • Nikolay - journalist, teacher;

Creativity

The work of N. M. Popova was distinguished by deep psychologism, great truth in life, ability to penetrate into the essence of the image, a rich and diverse arsenal of creative means, organic and sincerity, strong energy, exquisite taste, high culture of the word. She played more than 170 roles in the theater [2] in performances staged by directors N. V. Popov , , I. Rabichev, E. Grechuk, K. Kapatsky, O. Mushroom, A. Sitnik . She managed both the characteristic and the dramatic roles.

For her, there were neither large nor small roles, because she took her work very seriously. She played in our theater all the Shevchenko heroines.
