Bashtash is a mountain range in the Southern Urals , on the border of the Salavat district of Bashkortostan and the Ust-Katavsky urban district of the Chelyabinsk region . Elongated in the meridional direction.

The length of the ridge is 25 km (in Belarus about 8 km), and the width is 8 km. The highest point is 796 m (in the Chelyabinsk region), 15 peaks in the eastern part are 450–780 m high [1] .
Composition: quartzite sandstones, siltstones and schists of the Zilmerdak Formation of the Upper Riphean [1] .
Landscapes: on the top of the slopes there are birch and pine-birch forests on dark gray forest soils, mountain meadows and meadow steppes on chernozem-like soils with rich grass stand (more than 100 species). The lower parts of the slopes are plowed under hayfields and pastures [1] .
On the slopes of the ridge, the Sikiyaz and Lakly rivers (tributaries of the Ai river), Minka and Myagky (tributaries of the Yuryuzan river) originate.
