Physical Properties

Cadmium metasilicate forms colorless crystals of monoclinic syngony , space group P 2 1 / c , cell parameters a = 0.69463 nm, b = 0.72563 nm, c = 1.50697 nm, β = 94.791 °, Z = 12.

Not soluble in water.

Application

Cadmium metasilicate doped with rare-earth elements is used as a phosphor.
