Amblyomma clypeolatum (lat.) - a species of ticks of the genus Amblyomma from the family Ixodidae . South Asia : India (Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh), Myanmar , Sri Lanka . Parasitizes on reptiles , mainly on turtles Geochelone elegans , Geochelone platynota and Indotestudo elongata . In males, the dorsal rigid shield covers the entire body, in females, a third [1] [2] [3] . The species was first described in 1899 by zoologist L. G. Newmann (Neumann, LG 1899) [4] .
