Salimkhanov, Yuri Adilbegovich

Born March 15, 1965 in the Leninsky district of the Moscow region . Father comes from s. Almak of the Kazbekovsky district of the Republic of Dagestan. His name was assigned to school number 2 of the Kazbekovsky district of Dagestan . After graduating from high school, he worked as a mechanic at a state farm. After active military service he returned to his former place of work. In 1989, on the recommendation of the labor collective, he entered the service of the internal affairs bodies, becoming a fighter of the fire department. In February 1992, he transferred to the OMON GUVD of the Moscow Region . Here, having received appropriate professional training, he became the senior weapons technician of the detachment.

Yuri Salimkhanov, a fighter of the Moscow Region OMON, went on long business trips to the Chechen Republic several times, where federal forces made efforts to restore constitutional order and disarm illegal armed groups.

He died on August 13, 1996 in the city of Grozny. He was buried in the cemetery of the village of Mamonovo, Leninsky district, Moscow region .

By a decree of the President of the Russian Federation of January 26, 1998, Yury Adilbegovich Salimkhanov, a junior police lieutenant, was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation .

He was awarded the Order of Courage, the medal "For Courage" (1995).

The name of the Hero is engraved on a plaque in the building of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Moscow Region .

By order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Yuri Salimkhanov was forever enlisted in the lists of the personnel of the Special Purpose Police Unit of the Moscow Region ; his portrait was placed in the memorial hall of the Museum of the Moscow Regional Police.
