Puente Nuevo (Ronda)

Puente Nuevo ( Spanish: Puente Nuevo - “New Bridge”) is a 98-meter-high 18th-century bridge across the Guadalevin River in the city of Ronda in the Andalusian province of Malaga . One of the main tourist attractions of the city. The three-arch stone bridge is one of three that spans 120 meters deep across the Tajo de Ronda gorge. The bridge was designed by Spanish architect Jose Martin de Aldeuela , who also designed the bullring in Ronda. Construction continued from 1759 to 1793. In 1735, a single-arch bridge was erected on this site in eight months according to another project, which collapsed already in 1740 and caused the death of about fifty people.
