Format

“Turkvision” is a song contest, similar to the Eurovision song contest , in which both Turkic countries and regions, as well as any other countries and regions, whose representative is a Turk by nationality, can take part [1] . Unlike Eurovision, in which the winning country is the venue for the next competition, at Turkviden, the competition is hosted by one of the cities of the TÜRKSOY member countries, which will be declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world [3] .

The decision made in 2010 in Istanbul on the annual declaration of one of the cities of the member countries of TURKSOY as the cultural capital of the Turkic world laid an important tradition, giving a new impetus to joining the efforts of the creative community to expand cultural ties and increase the interest of the international community in conducting joint cultural projects.

Participation

Not only Turkic-speaking and Turkic countries or regions, such as Crimea , Xinjiang - Uyghuria and Turkey , have the right to participate in the annual pop song contest "Turkviden" [1] . "Turkviden" is a unique festival of modern pop song, not constrained by geography, it unites the Turkic-speaking peoples of the whole planet. Twenty-four countries and regions took part in the first Turkvision song contest of 2013 .
