Biography
Elena Petrovna Bazhenova was born on October 26 ( November 8 ), 1904 .
She worked as an editor at the film studio " Lenfilm ".
She was married to the sound engineer of artistic cinema by Arnold Aleksandrovich Shargorodsky (1907–1986).
She passed away in 1980. Buried in the Leningrad crematorium . The ashes of her husband and son are buried nearby [1] .

- 1955 - The Rumyantsev Case - Prize in the struggle for a new person at the 9th IFF in Czechoslovakia in 1956.
- 1958 - My dear man - Second prize for the film at the II All-Union Film Festival (1959). The film came out on the second place according to the results of the Soviet Screen Magazine competition for the best film of 1958 (1959).
- 1958 - Last inch - Second prize for a film for children and youth at the 3rd All-Union Film Festival (1960).
- 1960 - Lady with a Dog - Special Prize for Humanism at the XIII IFF in Cannes , France (1960). The film is recognized as one of the outstanding film productions at the International Film Festival of the Best Films in London , United Kingdom (1960). The film is recognized as the best foreign film shown in London in 1962, as well as on the screens of Sweden in 1962.
