Biography
There is a version that this is Gunald I , who returned from the monastery. But perhaps this is another Gunald, the son of Weifar . He continued his father’s struggle with the Franks , raising a rebellion in 769. The rebellion was crushed, Gunnald II fled to Vasconia [1] . Loop II , not wanting war with the Franks, betrayed Gunald II with his wife. Loop II also recognized the supreme power of King Charlemagne [2] , for which he received the recognition of the title of Duke of Vasconia in exchange.
There is no exact information about the death of Gunald II. There is no information about family and children either. Perhaps he left offspring in Burgundy .
