Biography
Coming from a family of a large landowner. Graduated from Benares University in India.
In 1950, he joined the Nepali Congress.
After the coup of 1960, he supported the new Panchayat system. In 1962 he was elected to the National Panchayat (parliament).
- 1965-1967 - held several ministerial posts.
- 1967-1968 and in 1972-1973. - Chairman of the National Panchayat,
- 1973-1975 and 1986 - Prime Minister and Minister for the Royal Court of Nepal. In this post, he made a significant contribution to improving the situation of peasants and the poorest segments of the population. He pursued a policy of strengthening Hinduism.
He was elected president of the World Hindu Federation.
