Manufacturing

Sabat is usually made of bast , reinforced with birch bark . The weaving was made of 7 stripe strips from the toe with the use of an iron rod (pin) and a block (canal).

On the sole was applied oblique, on the "little face" - direct weaving.

The sole, woven in two layers, is folded upward, forming a protrusion - a pigtail; the sock was trapezoidal. Short scabs were tied on the ankle.

In the north-western districts of Bashkortostan, the sabat was attached to wooden stands (kүtәrmәle sabata). In the northern regions, a fabric upper was sewn to the sabat, tightening around the leg with a cord (bysimly sabat).

Use

Under sabat wore cloth or woolen stockings, footcloths (silғau), canvas onuchi (kinder ystyr).
