The best selling album of the year was “ The 20/20 Experience ” by American singer Justin Timberlake , released on March 15, 2013 under the RCA Records label . The 20/20 Experience debuted at number one on the American Billboard 200 with sales of 968,000 copies in the first week and became Justin’s second album topping the chart from the first week after it went on sale, and the best bestseller in one week in his solo career [3 ] .
The second album of the year sales was « Red ». This is the 4th studio album by American country singer Taylor Swift , released on October 22, 2012 under the label Big Machine. The album debuted on the Billboard 200 charts immediately in first place, selling over a record circulation of over 1.2 million copies in the first week of sales, a record for 2012, [4] the largest sales figure in the last ten years. By December 2013, the total circulation exceeded 3.91 million copies in the United States [5] [6] [7] . Red became the second most successful in circulation in the debut week album among all female singers after the album Britney Spears Oops! ... I Did It Again (1.3 million) [8] .
- The fifth Beyoncé studio album by American singer Beyoncé , who was the leader of the Billboard 200 for only two weeks in December, was eventually able to enter the final annual list of the best albums. What became for Beyonce the 6th such case (taking into account the career in Destiny's Child ). Earlier, in the final Top 10, only three performers in the digital era Nielsen SoundScan (since 1991) had so often succeeded: Garth Brooks , Mariah Carey and Eminem entered their final Top 10 with their albums in six different years [9] .
