An old wizard named Vitruvius is trying to protect a dangerous and powerful relic called Adskl from the evil Lord of Business. After a short battle, Vitruvius loses and is blinded. He warns the Business of a prophecy that speaks of the Chosen One that will conquer evil. Lord Business does not believe and throws Vitruvius into the abyss.

Eight and a half years later, Emmett, an ordinary builder, after work meets a girl named Dikarka, who is looking for something at a construction site. Following her, Emmett falls into the pit and finds the Resistance Block. After touching him, Emmett experiences various visions and falls asleep. He is awakened by the Evil cop and interrogates where Emmet comes from, the Resistance Block, tightly stuck to his back. Emmett learns that Lord Business wants to glue the whole world with the help of Adskl under the guise of the Taco Tuesday holiday. Savage saves Emmett from the laser and they run away on a motorcycle built by Savage. The chase begins; Savage learns that Emmett is not even a Great Master. The couple escapes from Kirpichgrad and ends up in the Old West, where Savage takes him to Vitruvius, explaining that both of them are Great Masters with the ability to build without instructions. The Lord Business, who came to power, ordered the construction of walls between the worlds, and imprisoned the Masters in the Thinking compartment of his tower.

In this tower, Lord Business brings the Good Cop, the alter ego of the Evil Cop, to his room relics from another world - our world. The business explains to Cope that everything in the world should be in place and makes Cope stick its own parents. A good cop cannot do this, and Business ruthlessly erases that face. The remaining Evil cop goes in search of the Favorites.

Vitruvius sends letters to the country beyond the clouds to meet the Great Masters. The evil cop is hunting down Emmett, Savage, and Vitruvius. Savage collects a glider for Emmett to slip away. After a small chase, the Evil cop in his car shoots the bridge over which the heroes ride. Fortunately, the whole four was picked up by the guy of Dikarki - Batman. He takes them to a meeting in the transcendental distance, where Kisonka meets them; they all enter the Dog, a dog-shaped building.

Emmett cannot make a good speech, but Ironbeard intervenes and talks about the attack on the tower of Business, after which he lost almost his whole body. Suddenly, the Transcendental Distance is attacked by the Top Secret Police on their dropships. The evil cop captures almost all the masters. Benny joins Emmett, Vitruvius, Savage, Kison and Batman, and the whole team is building a submarine.

Soon the walls of the submarine do not stand up and a hole forms. Everyone is saved on one of Emmett's stupid ideas - a two-story sofa. They are picked up by Ironbeard on his ship. There, Emmett creates instructions for the Robocop transporter and a plan for the destruction of Adskl. The team sneaks into the tower of Business. Unfortunately, the team is caught and sent to the Thinking Bay. Vitruvius resists, but Business throws a quarter into his neck, decapitating him.

Lord Business cuts off the Resistance Block from Emmett’s back, throws it off the edge of the Universe, betrays the Evil Cop and leaves the masters to die. A ghost of Vitruvius appears in front of Emmett and explains that the prophecy is a fiction, but anyone can become elected if they believe in themselves. Tied to a self-destruct mechanism battery, Emmett falls from the edge of the universe to save his friends by breaking wires. The evil cop goes over to the side of the Great Masters, painting the erased face of the Good cop again. Savage, tells the residents of Kirpichgrad about Emmet and the Business plan, urging everyone to build without instructions. Benny is finally creating a starship.

Emmett finds himself in the real world, where all past events are created in the imagination of a boy Finn. His father, familiar to Emmett and the masters as “The One Upstairs,” interrupts his son’s game and orders him to put everything in its place. He wants to glue some buildings. Realizing that friends are in danger, Emmett tries to move and falls off the table, drawing Finn's attention to himself. Finn returns Emmett and the Resistance Block to the LEGO world.

There, Emmett becomes the Grand Master and the real Chosen One and builds a giant robot to help his friends and confront the army of Business. The Lord releases micro-managers to the battle with the Great Masters. In the real world, Finn’s father looks at his son’s work and changes his position. Finn tells dad about the invented Great Masters and the tyranny of Lord Business. Realizing that Lord Business is himself, dad allows his son to play with his designs. Emmett sneaks into the business flying cruiser and convinces him that he is also the Chosen One, since everything that is in the world was built by the President, and citizens love his buildings. Emmett hands the Resistance Block to the Business, which is actually a cap from Adskl. The president closes the glue that explodes.

Emmett reunites with friends, and President Business spills solvent out of a giant watering can. All the characters are back together, and Savage, whose real name is Lucy, breaks up with Batman and becomes Emmett's girlfriend. Dad tells Finn that his younger sister also wanted to play LEGO. Suddenly, a huge brilliant ball descends from the sky, from which the DUPLO aliens come out.

He wears a helmet with fire pipes and large legs of LEGO blocks.
• Evil cop / Good cop - a minion of the Lord of Business with a split personality, heads the police of Brick City.
• Ironbeard - a pirate who lost his body after an attack on the headquarters of the Lord of Business. His head is placed in an exoskeleton assembled from LEGO blocks.
• Kisonka is an anime unicorn cat from a sky-high country. She always tries to have fun and not despair, suppressing her aggressive side.
• Benny is an astronaut from the 1980s set who adores building starships.
• Batman is a self-confident and a little selfish costumed hero. Mistakenly believes that no one knows his true identity. Wild's first guy.
• “The One Upstairs” is an ordinary person, businessman, LEGO collector (all the worlds from the film are built in his garage on the tables). The mythical manifestation of the higher power of the LEGO universe. He doesn’t like it when his son touches his LEGO figures.

The cartoon was duplicated by the Mosfilm-Master association at the production and technical base of the Mosfilm film concern by order of the Karo-Premier film company in 2014 ^[7] . The dubbing director is Vsevolod Kuznetsov, the translator is Evelina Novikova.

The film was warmly received by critics immediately after the release. On the Rotten Tomatoes website, the phrase ““ Lego. 7 февраля 2019 года намечена премьера сиквела Лего. Фильм 2 . Продюсерами станут: Джаред Штерн (автор «Вольта», «Принцессы и лягушки» и «Ральфа»), текстом сиквела займётся Мишель Морган . Пока не известно, вернутся ли в качестве режиссёров продолжения Фил Лорд и Кристофер Миллер . Поначалу руководство студии опасалось за судьбу проекта и сомневалось, что мультфильм вообще окупится.
