Geographical position
The village of Berezovo is located on the right bank of the Berezovaya River, which flows into the Sumka River, 1 km from the village of Mitryaevo and 3.7 km from the village of Malinovka II .
History
The Mari name is translated as "Village with a birch forest." The village of Berezovo in the XVI - XVIII centuries was an integral part of the large village community of Extreme Shoshmar (Third Shoshmar)
Starting from 1797, the village was part of the Yemangash volost of the Vasilsur district of the Nizhny Novgorod province , in 1924-1931 - as part of the Sheshmar district of the Yurinsky canton, in 1931-1959 - the Kraine-Sheshmar village council of the Elasovsky region , from 1959 it was the administrative center of the Berezovsky village council district. Currently, as part of the Mikryakovsky rural settlement.
During the years of collectivization in 1931, a collective farm named after Voroshilov was organized in the village. After World War II, it was renamed the Mayak collective farm.
The main occupations of local residents were agriculture, animal husbandry and subsidiary crafts.
