The House of Specialists is a five-story residential building [3] [4] , which was built in the style of post - constructivism [1] in two stages: the first and second buildings ( G. D. Vagin [5] , A. Filonov) were built in 1933— 1937, and the third ( G.V. Topuz and Plekhanov) - in 1942 [2] . Built by the trust Bashzheldorstroy [1] . For the construction of the house 4 residential buildings were demolished [1] .
In March 1932, a resolution was issued by the Council of People's Commissars of the USSR and the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks "On the construction of houses for specialists" on which construction of the building began in 1933 [1] . The house was planned for construction back in 1932, but the project of the architects required completion [1] . The first building was built in 1936 [1] , the second building in 1937, and the third building adjacent to Sovetskaya Street in 1942 [1] . The convicts originally built the house, and German prisoners of war finished the construction. The first building was built from bricks of the dismantled Voskresensky Cathedral - the main temple of the city [1] [6] . The House of Specialists became the largest building in Ufa in the prewar years [7] . A fountain [1] was set up in the courtyard, and a music school [8] was also located here. The construction of the house has not been partially completed to date. In the first and second buildings in the entrances there are elevator shafts, and there are no elevators. The bedrooms do not have balconies with existing balcony doors, and therefore, some tenants independently bricked these doors. The absence of balconies and elevators is associated with a hasty house commissioning in 1942 before the engineers evacuated from Leningrad [9] .
The classic color of the house since the construction was green, but in 2000 the house was repainted in beige, and then in yellow.
At different times, distinguished people known in the city and the republic lived here, as witnessed by memorial plaques on the facade. In particular, the writers G. G. Amirov and D. Yulty , the honored doctor of the RSFSR N. N. Baiteryakov, the chemist P. P. Budnikov , the national artists G. M. Mingazhev , A. K. Mubaryakov and G. A. lived in the house . Mubaryakova [10] , poets Rashit Nigmati , S. G. Galimov and P. G. Tychina [4] , academician G. S. Rosenberg [11] . Most of the first inhabitants of the house became victims of the Stalinist repressions of the 1930s [6] .
In 1987, by order of the Council of Ministers of the BASSR, the building was taken under state protection as a historical monument [4] [12] . Currently, the house has a teenage club "Prometheus" [ significance of fact? ] .
