Actors and characters
On the screen, the roles of “Q” are played by such actors as John De Lancey , Corbin Burnsen and Olivia d'Abo , Garritt Graham, [1] Susie Plaxon and Harvey Presnel, Lorna Raver, Kikagan De Lancey. [1] [9]
- John De Lancey - “Q”. [1] [6] Q is a source of problems for people, he tests them and plays with them, asking complex questions and delivering a lot of anxiety and trouble; he does not hide that he enjoys it. [6] A member of a group of powerful creatures that monitor the progress of humanity, which makes every appearance on the screen intriguing and tells viewers that something interesting will happen now. [6] De Lancy spoke of his character as a source of wit and comic, and at the same time, he was never comfortable next to him, he kept everyone in suspense. [6] According to the actor, the director insisted that the character be serious, but the actor improvised, adding irony and, since no one said no, he went on. [6] The theatrical appearances of Q, his monologues and quotes, are his calling card. [11] According to De Lancey, unlike the “Next Generation”, the appearance of his character in the next series did not carry any meaningful burden, but was only to please the audience with her favorite character and add a bit of humor to the show. [11] Despite the words of the hero Patrick Stewart that he is tired of Q's lies, the hero De Lancy jokes, ironizes, creates alternative realities, but he does exactly what Q says, perhaps the most honest “person” in the universe. [12] Q has a wife and a son. [7]
- Corbin Burnsen - Q. [13] The second representative of the continuum, which the viewer sees on the screen, is very different from the first. [9] Burnsen's character was sent by a continuum to keep an eye on Q - De Lancy, returns to the latter due to the act of self-sacrifice. [8] [14]
- Garritt Graham - "Q". [1] Appears in the Death Wish series as a continuum representative who wants to die, for which he was punished and imprisoned for 300 years in a comet. [10] Subsequently deprived of strength and died. [ten]
- Olivia d'Abo - “Q”. [15] Olivia d'Abo, a British actress who appeared as a student of Amanda aboard a ship in the True Q series. [15] By the time of filming, the actress did not know anything about "The Next Generation." [15] However, according to the actress, playing this character was interesting and exciting, it was a unique role for her. [15] Since she was a fan of the original series , the actors William Shetner and Leonard Nimoy , for her to work on the sequel was an honor and a pleasure. [15] According to the actress, her character, an orphan, was strong and wise, was at that stage of her life when she had to make important decisions, she was looking for answers to her questions and yet she was young and sometimes impressionable. [15] Inside it was a conflict, strength and opportunity - a potential that was to be realized. [15] On the set, everyone was warm and kind to the actress, however, like to each other, it was a very pleasant team. [15] Most of all, she liked doors that opened and closed automatically. [15] The actress really enjoyed working with De Lancy, primarily because he was very mischievous, energetic, and each time reminded her how important Star Trek was for people around the world, saying that Star Trek would live forever. [15] The most frequently asked question for the actress was what it was like to kiss Jonathon Freix. [15] Olivia really enjoyed working with Patrick Stewart, especially in the last scene, because in fact, Stewart’s character defended and directed Amanda all the time, giving her the opportunity to make a choice. [15]
- Suzy Plaxon - "Q". [16] The first appearance of the actress took place in the TV series Star Trek: The Next Generation in the role of Worf's wife, later she was offered the role of Q. [16] The actress says that she is often asked which of these roles she liked best. [16] To which the actress replies that she would like to play the narcissistic arrogant Q again, which does everything she wants. [16] The actress also performed the role of Tara in the Cease Fire series . Star Trek: Enterprise .
- Harvey Presnel - "Q". [17] According to director Cliff Boyle, the episode “Q and the Gray” ( English The Q and the Gray ), he liked it primarily because he again worked with De Lancy in the role of Q, but also because he was lucky to work with American musician Harvey Presnel. [17] Presnel became famous as a singer thanks to the films of the MGM studio. [17] He played a small, very small role in a series devoted to the civil war in the continuum, represented in the image of the general of the southerners. [17]
- Lorna Raver - “Q”. [18] The actress spoke of her small role in the episode “Q2” ( English Q2 ), with some disappointment, as she hoped to get a fashionable outfit, and she was made gray makeup and dressed in a formal suit. [18]
