Lady (Hear Me Tonight) is the debut single of the French music house pop duo Modjo , written and performed by singer Yann Destagnol and produced by Romain Tranchard, released in 2000. The song in the house genre contains a guitar insert - a sample of the song Soup for One performed by Chic [1] , written by Niall Rogers and Bernard Edwards [2] . The song debuted at number one in the UK, where it remained for two weeks to become the 16th best-selling single of 2000. The song was also in the top 10 hits in thirteen countries. In the United States, the song debuted as number one on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart.

The single includes the original version of the track, plus the acoustic version performed by Modjo. Remixes were provided by Harry Romero, Roy Davis Jr. and Danny Tenaglia. [3]
Mashup version of Modjo vs. Brandy & Monica - Lady vs. The Boy Is Mine appeared in the UK in March 2001 and took 10th place in the parade, thanks to DJ Stuntmasterz.
Due to the popularity of Lady (Hear Me Tonight) , in live performances, Chic includes him in a medley with the original Soup for One .
In 2013, the song was included in the video game Grand Theft Auto V on the air of the virtual radio station Non-Stop-Pop FM.
