Appearance and structure
The hairy hermit crab has a pair of claws, of which the right is much larger than the left and carries on the underside of its 4th segment 2 strongly protruding blunt spines. The upper side of the palm of the right claw is covered with soft pale yellow hair, which is longer than the spikes below them. Often hair hides the entire surface of the palm. It lives in empty shells of gastropods , while cancer grows larger and larger. In the sink is constantly back, covered with soft skin part of his body. The larger right claw of the cancer serves to close the opening of the shell in case of danger; smaller, left - for hunting and collecting food. They have four powerful legs designed for quick movement. The hind legs are poorly developed and serve to retain cancer in the shell.
The front part of the cephalothorax is up to 1 cm long. Body color is yellowish-orange.
