Content

Club career

Carvalho was born in Angola , but still in childhood moved with his parents to Portugal . At 13, he moved to the youth academy of the Lisbon Sporting . He made his debut in the main team on April 3, 2011 in a match against Vitoria Guimaraes , after which he went on a six-month lease to the Club Fatima , playing in the third Portuguese division [2] .

In 2012, he went on loan to the Belgian club Circle Brugge , in which he spent one and a half seasons [3] .

Before the start of the 2013/14 season, he returned to Sporting , where he became a player of the main team [4] .

October 27, 2013 scored his first goal for Sporting in the match against Porto . In 2016, the Portuguese defensive midfielder extended the contract with his club until 2020.

On July 13, 2018, Carvalho transferred to Real Betis as a free agent, signing a five-year contract.

Team Career

Since 2007, he played for the youth and youth teams of Portugal . On October 15, 2012 he made his debut as a member of the Portuguese youth team in a match against the youth national team of Ukraine . He scored 2 goals in the qualifying matches for the 2015 European Youth Championship , against Norway [5] and Israel [6] .

In November 2013, Carvalho received the first call to the Portuguese national team for the butt games for the World Cup against Sweden [7] . On November 19, he made his debut in the national team in the second leg against Sweden [8] .
