Club career

Jean-Christophe Thoma is a graduate of the Sochaux Football Club. He made his debut in the team in the 1982/83 season, when he played 8 matches in the French championship and 2 in the UEFA cup . As part of the Sochaux midfielder, he played until 1992 and in the 1987/88 season became a finalist of the country's cup . In the 1989/90 season, Toma again took part in the UEFA Cup and scored 4 goals in 4 matches played at the tournament.

In the summer of 1992, Jean-Christophe Thoma moved to Marseille Olympic and already in the 1992/93 season he won the Champions League with the team. Having become the vice-champion of France following the results of the 1993/94 season , the defender left Olimpik, joining Rennes .

As part of the “red-black”, Tom spent 2 seasons, after which he became a player in the Saint-Etienne Division 2 . He ended his career as a player at the end of the 1997/1998 season.
