Distribution of Deputies
The Belgian delegation was reduced from 22 to 21 deputies, which is due to the entry into Croatia of the European Union, since as a result of the signing of the Lisbon Treaty in 2009, the total number of seats in the European Parliament is limited to 751 deputies. [1] The Flemish constituency lost one deputy.
The delegation of Belgium is elected from 3 constituencies: 12 delegates from the Flemish constituency, 8 from the French-speaking and 1 delegate from the German-speaking. In Brussels, voters can vote for either the Flemish or the French-speaking delegation.
In addition, in the territory of Belgium they vote in the Polish and Italian constituencies.
